LEADER Project Officer (Chilterns)
Ian has lived and worked in the Chilterns region for many years, he has extensive experience of the arboricultural and woodland management industries and, from this, the wider green economy of the area. Starting and running his own business, and latterly managing the UK & Ireland arm of an international tree company, has provided valuable knowledge of green business. Working on rural business projects in places as far apart as Wales ,Sri Lanka and Scotland provided hands on understanding of the sector.
Ian has a MSc in Horticulture from the university of Reading, is a member of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners and is a freeman of the City of London.
LEADER Project Officer (Clay Vales)
Ruth has lived in Buckinghamshire for 20 years. She previously worked at Oxford University where she managed a Department within the Nuffield Department of Medicine. She also has management experience at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (now part of Cancer Research UK), where she worked as the administrative manager in the Laboratory Research Directorate in London. Ruth has a Ph.D. in Plant Biochemistry and postdoctoral research experience. Her interest in plants was nurtured during her childhood on her grandfather’s farm.
LEADER Project Manager (N&W Northants & Clay Vales)
Will has worked on funding programmes in Northamptonshire since 2010 having gained much experience from the 2007-2013 LEADER Programme. Before joining Ngage Solutions, Will worked for Northamptonshire County Council in the Economic Development team. During this time his main role was to ensure smooth running of various grant funding programmes. Prior to working life, Will studied at Oxford Brookes University, gaining an BA Hons in City and Regional Planning. Having grown up in a farming environment he maintains a keen interest in all aspects of agriculture and rural life
LEADER Project Administrator
Katy has a BA (Hons) Degree in Ancient History (Swansea Uni) and a PG Dip in Heritage Interpretation (Surrey Uni). She has previously worked at the Science Museum & Geffrye Museum, and was Office Manager for NADFAS (National Association for Decorative & Fine Arts Societies).
Katy worked in business support for the National Trust's Ashridge Estate for 13 years where she gained a wide knowledge and understanding of issues affecting countryside management, and nurtured a love of British wildlife. Katy has lived in the Chilterns for 25 years and is a keen advocate of buying local wherever possible.
